Although it would take an additional two or three weeks in the short term, once the new process has been optimized, I'm confident there will be a couple of benefits. Firstly, it will save a lot of materials, even if the yield of fluorination is the same. Moreover, the yield should be able to be increased by applying a substitution reaction which is not allowed in the current process. Secondly, there will be no need to run reverse phase chromatography considering that the fluorinating compound in the new process is muchless polar. In short, I strongly believe it will lead to an increase in productivity for the team.
