it's not silent, but it is "connected" with the "n" and "s" sounds
your tongue stays in the position for n/d/s for the amount of time of "3 sounds" before you "release" the "s" sound (move your tongue down to produce "s")
the location of your tongue for "n" "d" and "s" is virtually the same
