Often, to agree with what has just been said we repeat it.
One such repetition for confirmation is when we repeat with a stress on the main auxiliary verb (= that's the one that "mean the tense")
A: The whole team put a lot of effort in!
B: We DID put a lot of effort!
A: He's helped us a lot.
B: He HAS!
A: You look amazing, C!
B: You DO look amazing!
C: 🥹😌
A: I think we need a brainstorming session on this one...
B: We DO need that.
Oftentimes, the auxiliary stress can be used to just emphasize an additional idea that is in agreement with the overall situation.
A: I can't wait to travel there.
B: We DO need a break.
A: Have you resolved the issue?
B: We've been unable to find the main cause of failure so far.
C: We DO need some more time to figure out the details.
