In ordinary/casual speech anticipate is often a synonym of expect (they have the same meaning)—“to regard (a future event) as probable". In a lot of casual uses, "anticipate" is perhaps a little more "high-end", but not different in meaning.
▪️ Do you expct there to be any issues?
▪️ Do you anticipate any issues?

But in a more formal communication, anticiapte and expect have slightly different meanings.
So, it is crucial to understand the nuances of each term to avoid any confusion or miscommunication.

Anticipate means to foresee or predict something and take action,
while expect means to believe with confidence that something will happen or be the case.

Essentially, anticipating is to be fairly sure somethinng will happen and prepare for a potential outcome,
while expecting is more about having confidence in a specific outcome.

Anticipation requires a proactive approach, where one takes action to mitigate potential risks or capitalize on opportunities that may arise in the future. It involves being aware of the possibilities and taking steps to prepare for them.
Anticipating can also refer to the act of looking forward to something with excitement or eagerness, such as an upcoming event or experience.

Expect is a verb that also refers to the act of anticipating or predicting something to happen in the future. However, it involves a passive approach, where one simply waits for the event or situation to occur without taking any proactive steps.
Expectation is often based on assumptions, where one believes that something should happen or be given to them without any effort on their part.
