The new look of banknotes [钞票的新面貌] featuring [以…为特色 ] the image of King Charles has been unveiled by the Bank of England.
The portrait will be the only change to existing [现存的] designs of £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes and will start to enter circulation from mid-2024.
New notes will feature the King's portrait on the front and in the see-through [透明的] security window.
Existing notes will still be accepted [被接受的] in shops after the new notes begin to circulate [循环].

The Bank of England said that, following guidance [跟踪指导] from the Royal household, the new notes would only be printed to replace [代替] worn notes or to meet increased demand [满足日益增长的需求], in order to minimise the environmental and financial impact of the change.
Cash use has become far less frequent [远不及 ] when compared to debit cards, owing primarily to [主要由于] the use of contactless payments [非接触式支付] and then accelerated by the Covid pandemic. The buying power of specific coins and banknotes have also been diluted [被削弱 ] by rising prices.
However, there is still keen interest [强烈的兴趣 ] from consumers and collectors about the images used on cash.
Collectors will be particularly [尤其] excited to get their hands on [占有;得到] the lowest serial numbers of the new King Charles banknotes when they appear.
